			<title>An open and shut product</title>
			<link>http://www.schrader-bridgeport.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=91&amp;Itemid=79</link>
<description>[This article featured in the June 2006 edition of European Business Journal (http://www.european-business-journal.com/).]
The valves produced by Schrader are a vital complement to the Tomkins Group's extensive portfolio of automotive components
In a bid to woo customers and win the intense competitive battle raging between rival car manufacturers, many of the sophisticated add-ons that used to be available only at an extra charge have become standard on a range of different car classes. Additional extras that improve car performance and driving comfort such as fuel injection, air conditioning and servo assisted braking and steering systems are now expected to be part of the basic package. This may put greater pressure on the car makers but it is good news for valve manufacturers, as all of these systems rely on valves in order to function properly. Where previously valves were only seen on tyres, now they have applications in many systems throughout the modern car. Schrader specialises in the full range of valves for automotive applications and is very happy with the way the market is developing.</description>
